[ Mark Eteson - Highway ]

[ About for Dj ]
Mark Eteson has been brought up on music. His father, Bill Eteson, is a musician and has been in a number of bands as well as having released 3 albums. So it was almost inevitable that the diverse and eclectic mixture of music Mark grew up with manifested into a love of electronic music at the end of the 1990's.

With Godskitchen announcing Mark as their new resident back in March 2006, after he had consistently played stunning warm-up sets and final sets for them throughout the past year, it's a sign that this young mans talent is too great to be ignored. The likes of Armin, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, and Judge Jules, are already noting that Mark Etesons DJ skills are superb, so his new Godskitchen residency is something to savour.

But it's not just when he's behind the decks that Mark is getting euphoric reactions from audiences. He has quietly been building up an arsenal of productions and remixes that are being snapped up and supported by the worlds finest DJs. Paul van Dyk championed Mark's very first release Atlantic, playing it on all sides of the globe, in two of his Essential Mixes and placing it in his Mixmag Chart. Judge Jules has been giving Marks remix of Darren Styles - "Dropzone" support on his BBC Radio 1 show as well as playing Marks bootleg "Cherry Whip" a stunning 6 weeks running on his Saturday night dance show. Marks insatiable studio creativity doesn't end there. With an ever growing list of productions (watch out for Atlantic on Monster), and remixes (check Ferry Corsten's classic Galaxia on Tsunami, and York's Mercury Rising on Offshore) winning support and respect from his peers, as they appear, its going to be hard to ignore Mark Eteson in 2009.

Already, Mark Eteson's DJ and production skills have been utilized by Hooj / Lost language offshoot label, Solaris, when mixing their first label showcase titled Rendezvous 1. Couple that with two compilations for Godskitchen, Trance Anthems and GK Underground which have together sold over 30,000 copies; it's no surprise that Mark has been asked to mix the new Godskitchen Global Gathering Tour CD for distribution over the summer.

Marks eclectic and intelligent blend of so many genres of EDM from the dirty gritty electro, through warm melodic progressive and all the way up to his trademark powerful and energetic trance has taken him travelling all over the world. Highlights have been playing the main stage at Hi-Fi Festival; closing the main arena of the Godskitchen arena at Global Gathering, playing 4 Globals last year, trips to Lithuania, Kiev, St. Petersburg and Shaghai and playing to a crowd of just under 1 million people through the streets of Zurich at the 15th anniversary of the Street Parade.

Mark Eteson, a future hero? It might well be worth a trip to the bookies before everyone catches on.
